Jane Toller officially elected Warden by a margin of 337 votes
The result is now official, Jane Toller has been re-elected warden of MRC Pontiac for a second consecutive mandate. In the end, Toller won the with 3,301 votes (52.69%), against 2,964 votes (47.31%) for Mike McCrank, a difference of 337 votes.
The official public notice from the returning officer will be released tomorrow (November 10), making Toller’s victory official. She told CHIP 101.9 that she was going to address voters by radio following this notice. Of the 12,786 registered voters, the number of valid votes recorded was 5,800, with 51 votes rejected.
The turnout was lower than the last one, at 45.8% compared to 48.4% in 2017, which was the first election for warden by universal suffrage. In 2017, Toller received 3,597 votes (47%). Her closest rival at the time, Raymond Durocher, garnered 1,366 (17.85%), followed by Linda Davis with 1,045 (13.65%), Charlotte L’Écuyer who obtained 828 (10.82%) and by Pierre Fréchette at 817 (10.68%).
