Municipality of Pontiac Mayor Joanne Labadie discusses re-election campaign
Yesterday, CHIP 101.9 spoke with Municipality of Pontiac Mayor Joanne Labadie about her re-election campaign. This year she is facing off against two former mayors, Roger Larose and Eddie McCann. Back in 2017, Labadie prevailed against Larose with nearly 60% of the vote.
She highlighted the large investments in the municipality’s sprawling road network over the last term as one area she would like to continue working on.
She said that she had two priorities going forward, the first being the creation of a second urban perimeter in the Luskville portion of the municipality to be able to accommodate more businesses in the area. The second would be to improve the water and sewer system in the village of Quyon, to attract more residents to the area and allow for possible expansion in the future.
When asked why she wanted to seek another term, Labadie said that she loved working with people and liked the challenge of solving problems in her community.
