Kathleen Bélec and Sandra Armstrong talk about the future of their municipality

The discussion between the candidates for mayor of Mansfield-et-Pontefract gave rise to more agreements than differences between the two candidates, Sandra Armstrong and Kathleen Bélec. This was the case, among other things, regarding the municipal collaboration between Mansfield and Fort-Coulonge. The two believe that it is not necessary to merge the two municipalities, as had been discussed in the past, but to ensure that exchanges can be frequent between the two councils.

The economy was one of the topics that the two discussed. Bélec said that she wanted to see business people from Fort Coulonge and Mansfield involved in the economic recovery of the community.

Armstrong said that she had ideas that she was hoping to discuss with entrepreneurs in the region.

Other subjects were covered, from residential construction to leisure and culture, as well as more specific files, like the arena, the baseball field and the Mansfield municipal office, which both said was on its last legs.
