Municipal election workers sought in Mansfield et Pontefract
With the municipal elections looming in November, the head of elections for the municipality of Mansfield et Pontefract, Éric Rochon is looking for workers. In a press release sent out yesterday (August 19) Rochon specified the jobs that were needed, either for advance polls on October 31 or on election day, November 7.
List of jobs available
Voter reception officer
– welcome voters
– checks the polling division indicator to determine the polling division of a
elector
Identity verification officer
– ensure that voters are registered on the voting list
– verify the identity of voters
– swear in electors
Information and enforcement officer
– informs voters about sufficient proof of identity and address
– directs voters to the appropriate voting table
– ensures the maintenance of order
Scrutineer:
– facilitates the exercise of the right to vote and guarantees the secrecy of the vote
– administer oaths to electors, if necessary
– inform the person in charge of the polling station of any major problem
occurred in the conduct of the vote
– proceed with the counting of the votes
– transmits the results of the vote
– hands over the ballot box to the person in charge of the polling station
Polling station secretary
– checks the name of the elector who voted on the list of electors
– complete the poll book and election forms
– assists the scrutineer during the counting of votes

In accordance with the provisions of the Act respecting elections and referendums in municipalities, the director general of the Municipality of Mansfield et Pontefract acts as returning officer for the ballot of November 7, 2021. The returning officer oversees the conduct of the election and, to this end, provides training for all election officials and directs their work.
