Reopening of the Gatineau hospital emergency service on July 18
The Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais announced that the Gatineau Hospital emergency room will be open for all, but starting next Sunday (July 18). Also, the emergency room will be open every day, but between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m., the establishment will offer services to certain clienteles according to the following indications:
– The urgent medical consultations that can be treated at the Gatineau Hospital emergency room will be for the following three situations:
– Pregnant women
– Children from 0 to 17 years old
– People in urgent need of mental health services
– For any other urgent consultation need, the population is invited to go to the emergency room of Hull or Papineau (Buckingham) hospitals.
“We would like to remind women who are 20 weeks and older to come directly to the obstetrics department at the Gatineau Hospital at all times.
This daytime reopening is possible thanks to the reorganization of human resources, which makes it possible to stabilize the situation and to offer this essential service to the population in a complete way during the period from 8 am to 6 pm ”, affirms the CISSS de l’Outaouais.
The CISSS de l’Outaouais also recalled that other alternatives are available for the population:
First contact Info-Santé / Info-Social at 811;
Check the availability of your family doctor;
Make an appointment in a medical clinic with or without an appointment;
Consult a pharmacist;
Check the services available in CLSCs;
For children, there is the Outaouais pediatric ambulatory service center (0 to 17 years old);
Make an appointment at the Médigo Clinic.
