As part of the improvement of the Programme de la taxe sur l’essence et de la contribution du Québec (TECQ 2019-2023), the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Andrée Laforest, as well as the Member for Papineau and Minister responsible of the Outaouais region, Mathieu Lacombe, announced that a sum of $ 48.7 million will allow 67 municipalities and towns in the Outaouais region to carry out work on their municipal infrastructures.

“As Member of Parliament for Papineau and Minister responsible for the Outaouais region, it is a great pride for me to announce to the 67 municipalities and cities of the region the significant amounts due to them under the TECQ program. Our government is mobilizing and deploying major means to put in place quality municipal infrastructures in our region while supporting economic recovery in all of our territories ”, Member of Parliament for Papineau, Minister of Families and Minister responsible for Outaouais region, Mathieu Lacombe.

This investment is part of the desire to stimulate economic recovery in all regions of Quebec by supporting the completion of projects that meet the priorities of municipalities, specifies the government. “The new sums will allow them to finance even more municipal infrastructure works, in particular those related to drinking water, wastewater treatment and local roads,” said the press release issued by the government of Quebec.
