The governments of Canada and Quebec have announced funding of $ 83,200 to the Municipality of Campbell’s Bay to renovate and expand children’s recreational infrastructure at the municipal park.

Today, William Amos, Member of Parliament for Pontiac, on behalf of the Honourable Catherine McKenna, federal Minister of Infrastructure and Communities, and on behalf of Isabelle Charest, provincial Minister for Education and Minister Responsible for the Status of Women, announced a joint funding of $ 83 200 to the Municipality of Campbell’s Bay for the renovation and expansion of recreational infrastructure for children at the municipal park. Thanks to this funding, residents of Campbell’s Bay will have access to modern, safe and secure facilities that promote active, healthy and inclusive lifestyles.

“The Government of Canada is determined to support municipalities in their community development projects. I welcome this funding for the Municipality of Campbell’s Bay, and especially for families, who will benefit from a modern and accessible park for children. The pandemic has demonstrated the importance for our rural communities to have access to quality sports and recreation infrastructure that will improve the quality of life.”said William Amos.

The project provides for the improvement and upgrading of existing infrastructure as well as the addition of complementary play modules, a rest area for families and services. More specifically, there will be improvements to the children’s play area already present in the park, including the addition of a psychomotor course, the addition of services such as toilets and drinking fountains, the development of trails for universal access and improvement of park lighting for greater safety.

“The Municipality of Campbell’s Bay is pleased with the support of the governments of Quebec and Canada in its project to improve and expand its children’s park. This project will promote the healthy lifestyles of our citizens and in particular improve the quality of life of our families. “adds Campbell’s Bay Mayor Maurice Beauregard.

The Government of Quebec is investing $ 41 600 through the Programme d’aide financière aux infrastructures récréatives et sportives, while the Government of Canada is investing $ 41 600 through the Community, Culture and Recreation Infrastructure Stream of the Investing in Canada Program.

This project was funded so that the Municipality of Campbell’s Bay could provide its residents with better quality recreational infrastructure.
