A change in the statistics list from the CISSS de l’Outaouais

6 April 2021 à 12:00 am

Recently the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de l’Outaouais changed its list of COVID-19 statistics. As explained by the media relations information officer, Marie-Pier Després, the municipality of Pontiac, which is part of the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais, had case numbers posted in the MRC Pontiac since last year.

“We moved the Municipality of Pontiac, because we believed it was in the MRC Pontiac territory until Public Health pointed it out to us. On the other hand, the Pontiac Local Service Network (RLS) is not the same as the MRC territories, which means that the Municipality of Pontiac is still in the Pontiac RLS ”, explains Marie-Pier Després.

For example, according to the data updated on April 5, the RLS Pontiac has had 104 cases since the start of the pandemic. 65 of those cases are located in the municipality of Pontiac, which means that the MRC Pontiac has so far had 39 cases since March 2020.

The municipality of Pontiac includes the sectors of Quyon, Onslow, Eardley, Luskvillle and Breckenridge, while the municipalité régionale de comté (MRC) of Pontiac, includes the municipalities located from Bristol to Rapide-des-Joachims. Before the merger in the 1970s, which led to the founding of the Municipality of Pontiac, it should be noted that the Quyon sector was part of the MRC Pontiac. Case numbers from the CISSS de l’Outaouais are available here.
