Even if the region will move to the orange zone, the CISSS de l’Outaouais remains caution

The interim regional director of public health in the Outaouais, Dr. Brigitte Pinard, reminded the population of the measures that will apply for the region, which will be in the orange zone starting next Monday (February 22).

“It’s important to note that this is not the same orange area as in the fall, there are some differences. We must also be vigilant because the risk of a greater spread of cases is always possible ”- Dr. Brigitte Pinard

Here are the orange alert level measures that will come into effect on February 22 :

– The curfew will be in effect between 9:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next morning, with exceptions.
– Travel between regions and interprovincial is not recommended.
– Gatherings in private places are prohibited, with some exceptions.
– Restaurants may reopen with a limit of two adults per table accompanied by their minor children, with record keeping and proof of residence in the region.
– Bars, brasseries, casinos and taverns must remain closed.
– Sports and leisure activities, including lessons, are permitted in indoor public places for individuals, couples or between occupants of the same residence. Fitness centers will therefore be able to reopen.
– Outdoor sports or recreational activities will be permitted with a maximum of 8 people.
– Cinemas and theaters will have the opportunity to reopen their doors on February 26, 2021.

Still 5 or less cases in the Pontiac
During the press conference which took place yesterday, Jacob Lavigne of CHIP 101.9 wanted to know why the exact number of cases in the territory of the Local Health Network (RLS) of the Vallée-de-la-Gatineau showed a figure precise, in this case 2, but that the RLS Pontiac always indicated 5 cases or less.

The number for the Vallée-de-la-Gatineau RLS was changed following the conference and now indicates 5 cases or less. Note that the Pontiac RLS now indicates 67 cases, in total, since the start of the pandemic. COVID-19 statistics in the Outaouais can be viewed here.
