Quebec revises the rules on gatherings during the holidays

3 December 2020 à 12:00 am

The Quebec government has canceled the gatherings of 10 people that it had initially allowed between December 24 and 27 for the red zones. Gatherings in orange zones will be allowed, but the maximum number is six.

Remember that in the RLS Pontiac, the MRC Pontiac is still in the orange zone, on the other hand, the municipality of Pontiac (from Quyon to Breckenridge) is in the red zone. Travel will not be prohibited, but during the press conference this afternoon (Thursday, December 3), Premier François Legault strongly advised against changing areas and visiting relatives located in regions where the level health alert would be lower. François Legault mentioned during the press conference that the next few months will be difficult, but that the vaccines are coming.

COVID-19 case statistics have been on the rise in the past few days, which appears to have prompted the government to change its approach. Quebec has identified 1,470 new cases since yesterday (December 2), for a total of 146,532 people infected since the start of the pandemic. The government is also reporting 30 additional deaths, bringing the toll to 7,155.
