While the Outaouais has seen an increase in the number of positive cases for COVID-19 in the past week, the Pontiac local service network (RLS) has not experienced the same growth. The RLS Pontiac, which also includes the municipality of Pontiac (which is not part of the MRC Pontiac), has a total of 32 positive cases for COVID-19, including 3 active cases. In total, the Outaouais has 2705 cases declared since the start of the pandemic and 286 cases are currently active. Of the 2705 people who have been infected with COVID-19, 2399 are believed to have recovered.

On the other hand, the vast majority of his cases are located in the municipality of Pontiac which has, according to data from the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux de l’Outaouais (CISSSO), 26 of the 32 reported cases. For the MRC Pontiac, the municipalities of Campbell’s Bay, Fort-Coulonge, Île-du-Grand-Calumet, Mansfield and Shawville have 5 cases or less. In fact, by subtracting the cases of the Municipality of Pontiac, 6 cases have been reported so far in the MRC Pontiac. Note that there have been no published statistics on how many active cases each municipality has.

The CISSS de l’Outaouais has intervened regularly over the past few days to raise public awareness of the spread of COVID-19. If the Pontiac seems to be currently in a good position, it is different for the RLS’ located at our border. In fact, Gatineau has 226 active cases, the MRC de la Vallée-de-la-Gatineau 15 and the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais 13.
