Historical plaque in both languages at MRC office will be installed in the spring
A Historical plaque in both languages will be installed next spring to commemorate the monument of the first meeting of elected officials of the MRC Pontiac, 170 years ago. Currently, only one sign has been installed on this monument and it is in English, the installation of the new plaque should take place after the spring melt.
Since the MRC Pontiac is a municipal body recognized under section 29.1 of the Charter of the French Language, it can display both French and another language, as long as French is predominant ( according to Article 24 of the Charter). It must also use both French and another language in their name, their internal communications and their communications with each other (section 26 of the Charter).
