Kim Lesage named interim Director General for MRC Pontiac
On Thursday evening (November 10), the MRC Pontiac council of mayors met for a special meeting to name engineer Kim Lesage as the interim director general. The move came just under a week after former Director General Bernard Roy resigned abruptly on Friday.
The meeting was attended by a majority of mayors or their pro-mayors who quickly voted unanimously in favour of the appointment. Lesage was accompanied by her mother, her husband and two of her children.
Lesage, who has worked at the MRC for a little over four years, said that she put her name forward because some of her colleagues had expressed concern about the transition. She said she wanted to provide stability for the office while a new full-time DG was sought.
Lesage said that she will be focusing on the upcoming budget for the next plenary and public MRC meetings. She said that because she sits on several committees, she has a good idea of what the various departments are working on at the moment.
Lesage said that she would maintain her role as MRC engineer and director of infrastructure, but noted that December and January tend to be slow months for construction.
