On June 9, 2017, the 4th edition of the regional Forces AVENIR 2017 was held at the Hilton Lac-Leamy.

During the evening, the Commission scolaire des Hauts Bois de l’Outaouais has acknowledged Mme. Dominique Bomans, a teacher at École secondaire Sieur-de-Coulonge, who received a regional award from Forces AVENIR 2017 in the category “Committed Personnel “. Mme. Bomans is a teacher who is committed to lifting the spirits of young students through cultural and sporting activities.

Also at the event was Tyler LaSalle, a student at Sieur-de-Coulonge High School, was named the Force AVENIR 2017 regional winner in the “Student Engagement” category. Tyler is a student committed to enhancing the sense of community and at his school.

Over the past months, weekly award winners representing various school boards in the Outaouais have been nominated in four categories. In addition to the two winners of the year, four individuals or groups were honored for the Commission scolaire as the self-help group at École secondaire Sieur-de-Coulonge in the “Engaged Project” category. This group is made up of pupils who are committed to creating a climate of trust and mutual help in solving problems.

On October 5, 2017, the regional winners and all those honored will participate in the national gala at the Capitole de Québec. Dominique Bomans and Tyler LaSalle will have the chance to win a national award in their respective category or to be selected as favorites for the Outaouais region. Those recognized through the year can also receive an award.
