Even though the Ottawa River is receding centimeter by centimeter back to its normal levels, many people are still suffering from the effects of the disaster and will not be able to return home for several days, not to mention the condition of the buildings that will have to be taken into consideration before everyday life resumes its course.

Some services have resumed such as the ferry from Quyon that resumes its activities today.
Public security is still monitoring the situation in different areas, but the situation is less urgent then before.
On the other hand, as the Mayor of the Municipality of Pontiac Roger Larose mentioned, the biggest task has yet to begin, cleaning up.

In the municipality of Pontiac, approximately 200 residents evacuated their homes.
The Premier of Quebec Philippe Couillard, and the Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau, will be monitoring some of the disaster areas in the Outaouais today.
